Description
The Membership Liaison is a linchpin of the Membership team serving as the hub between direct response outside vendors and internal stakeholders. The Liaison will be responsible for tracking assets of copy, images, and feedback from vendor to department representatives and back to the Membership team. Additionally, the Liaison will help in managing data for direct response campaigns ensuring reporting can happen in an effective and efficient manner. An ideal candidate is a self-starter interested in growing their career in Marketing or Development.

Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Demonstrate commitment to Shedd’s vision, mission and values.
  • Project manage solicitation and cultivation efforts between outside vendors and Shedd staff to seek appropriate collateral and assets, obtain edits and approvals to meet deadlines.
  • Light written and phone communication with members and donors serving as first point of customer service inquiries on the membership team should customer service team need assistance.
  • Track internal membership needs in database collaborating with customer service teams to ensure timely follow-up to member needs and concerns.
  • Serve as main point person for data tracking needs associated with direct response solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship campaigns from initial setup in database to closeout of cycle.
  • Manage and pull data related to direct response solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship in database for outside vendors to generate reports; collaborate with membership team in making data-driven decisions for future campaigns.
  • Serve as primary liaison between membership team and customer service team both ensuring customer service team is informed of campaigns in a timely manner and that membership team understands member concerns hitting customer service team.
  • Collaborate with gift officers and donor cohort strategists to coordinate parallel communications with these groups and track engagement.
  • Monitor daily gift reports to ensure they accurately reflect donor intent and track budget in collaboration with membership and Donor Services team
  • Keep and maintain master membership and communication calendar.
  • Assist in staffing after hours special events hosted by the Development Department, including fundraising events, cultivation events, member events, etc.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum of a High School diploma required.

Experience:

  • 1 collective year of work, non-profit, course work, volunteer, or internship experience demonstrating ability to collaborate with others and learn new skills.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously with great attention to detail and ability to meet simultaneous and multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced, multi-tasking work environment
  • Professionalism when interacting with a variety of people
  • Some database experience, especially Tessitura, strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - especially Outlook and manipulating/formatting data within Excel
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced partner-focused environment
