SALARY: $50,000 - $52,000
LOCATION: Hybrid
Time Commitment: This role occasionally requires morning, evening, or weekend hours, as well as direct interaction with donors, volunteers, and other VIP guests.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Coordinator of Donor Stewardship supports the work of the Philanthropic Engagement team within the Development department. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Donor Communications & Stewardship, this position will collaborate with staff across the department to support key stewardship efforts, including communications, tours, events, and other activities as they arise. They will be responsible for creative projects and administrative tasks, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are consistently met.
A successful candidate for this role will be highly collaborative, organized, and efficient with their time. They will be as comfortable composing content updates for relationship managers as they are completing data entry projects or staffing a tour or event. This role would be ideal for an early-career professional with a few years of experience in the non-profit sector and an interest in establishing a solid foundation in donor experience.

Donor Experience:
- Execution of high-level stewardship, including gift creation, procurement, and delivery
- Support Engagement team members with event production, including creating check-in lists, nametags, printed materials, and providing staffing support as needed
- Facilitate donor lunches for relationship managers in partnership with internal catering
- Coordinate interdepartmental annual holiday card production
Communications:
- Coordinate and program quarterly SheddTalks virtual events and on-demand virtual animal encounters for corporate partners
- Write invitation copy cascades for virtual and onsite events and brief content updates for donor relationship managers
- Maintain donor communications resources in partnership with the Assistant Director
- Coordinate annual communications plan, holding project leads to timelines and deliverables
Calendar Management & Operations:
- Maintain the Development donor engagement calendar, ensuring it matches with information in Momentus (Shedd-wide event planning software)
- Oversee Development Stewardship calendar, giving relationship managers ample notice as significant dates approach and providing recommendations for consideration
- Partner with the Manager of Development Operations to ensure data is entered into Tessitura accurately
- Take inventory of team supplies and order as needed; administer leadership expense reports
- Other duties as assigned.
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience is required.
Experience:
- 2+ years of communications, administrative, fundraising, or related experience, including internship experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with great attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member in a fast-paced, multi-tasking work environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Some database experience with CRM's, Tessitura experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, and manipulating/formatting data in Excel
- Professionalism, diplomacy, and tact when interacting with a variety of people
- Must be able to flex schedule as needed to work evenings or additional weekend hours as needed for events
