Description

The Coordinator of AV and Desktop Support, inclusive of end user, exhibit, and AV technology, is responsible for insuring that all support technology is functioning optimally throughout the aquarium and for developing opportunities for collaboration with both our internal and external business partners in this endeavor while maintaining the day to day operation of that technology including resolution of issues and daily maintenance.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate commitment to Shedd’s vision, mission and values.
  • Coordinate the general AV & Desktop technology support activities and maintenance relationships internally and externally for the aquarium.
  • Develop and implement a maintenance schedule and manage the daily maintenance and repair of all support technology.
  • Manage and track the inventory of Information Technology Assets
  • Participate in the maintenance and support schedule by analyzing and troubleshooting technology issues and proposing and implementing solutions to address them in the short-term and long-term.
  • Maintain clear documentation of support issues and procedures including root cause analysis, prevention and workarounds
  • Participate in support and exhibit technology projects with focus on improving guest and staff user experience.
  • Investigate and offer recommendations for new technology.
  • Coordinates the operation of technology support services for the aquarium including scheduling services and staff resources, organizing delivery and return of all technology support equipment, and supporting all activities through the execution of tasks.
  • Possesses the ability to quickly analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues with all support technology.
  • Attend and plan meetings collaborating with internal and external technology partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS


Education:

  • Any combination of education and training equivalent to a bachelor's degree which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described
  • Advanced coursework in computer technology, audio visual technology, or similar field is highly desirable

 

Experience:
 

  • Additional coursework or training in all relevant aspects of support technology including desktop computers, network and telecommunication systems is desirable.
  • Knowledge of project management disciplines and concepts or experience leading technology projects is a plus.
  • Communicate effectively both in oral and written form
  • Explain technical concepts to nontechnical customers and staff
  • Maintain current knowledge of technological advances
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
  • Prioritize, organize, and schedule work assignments and projects
  • Design, bid and implementation of collaborative AV systems
  • Develop support technology related training schedules
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the course of work
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, VOIP Phone Systems
